Responsibilities:
Operate heavy trucks, including tractor-trailers and other specialized vehicles, to transport goods and materials between locations.
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation operations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and identify any maintenance needs.
Load and unload cargo with precision and care, ensuring secure and balanced placement.
Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and minimize fuel consumption.
Maintain accurate records of working hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery documentation.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to provide status updates and address any issues or inquiries.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks and promptly report any mechanical issues or accidents.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Heavy Truck Driver, with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
Clean driving record with no history of serious traffic violations or accidents.
Demonstrated ability to handle heavy vehicles safely and responsibly, with a strong focus on road safety.
Excellent navigational and map-reading skills to plan efficient routes.
Physical strength and stamina to load and unload cargo, as well as sit for extended periods while driving.
Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the accuracy of all documentation.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
